Pinocchio hike on the Fairy tale road
The Pinocchio hike Fairy tale road (Via della Fiaba) is a circular route that link Pescia to Collodi toward an ancient stone made road. It’s a quite easy trails in the amazing hilly landscape of Tuscany. It could be done from Pescia to Collodi in order to visit the Villa Garzoni and its beautiful and interesting garden or in the circular mode in order to come back to Pescia through woodlands and ancient villages.
How we usually organize the day of the Pinocchio hike.
Our trail start in Pescia, a nice town on the river. We begin to rise the hill on the paved road. The group will pass thought the countryside among olive grove and vineyard and some fresh woodland along stream and small stone bridges. We rapidly reach Collodi, very famous for the fairy tale of Pinocchio, its old park dedicated to the most famous puppet of the world and the Villa Garzoni.
Then we can continue rising the hill of Collodi, visiting the village and then going toward Pescia among the woodland of the mountain.
The route is quite easy. The short solution needs about 2 hours; the longest one about 4 hours.
Packed lunch and extra visit after the Pinocchio hike
The best solution for the hiking is to have a packed lunch but, if the group prefer, we can organize something different like a regular lunch in restaurant, a wine and typical food tasting. After the trail the group can visit the Villa Garzoni and the butterfly house, the Pinocchio Park or the ancient village of Collodi.
