Massaciuccoli Oasis and Roman Ruins
This trail let your group to visit one the most interesting natural area of Tuscany: the Massaciuccoli Lake. You can find oun many interesting species of the lake with the possibility to admire animals and to do some birdwatching. After the visit to the oasis we go to visit the ruins of an ancient Roman villa. From there you can admire an amazing view of the whole lake.
How we usually organize the day – Massaciuccoli lake.
Our trail start in Massaciuccoli, a nice town on the lake. We go to reach the boardwalk on the lake and we start to visit the oasis. The group will pass thought the lake vegetation on a comfortable path. The we go into the wet woodland and we close the circle again in Massaciuccoli. From here we raise the hill and we reach the ruins of a Roman villa with private spa.
The route is quite easy but hiking boots are recommended.
Packed lunch and extra visit
The best solution for the hiking is to have a packed lunch but, if the group prefer, we can organize something different like a regular lunch in a restaurant, a wine and typical food tasting. After the trail the group can go to have a wine and typical food tasting (close to Massaciuccoli) or go to visit “Villa Puccini” or the sandy beaches of Tuscany
